The software being installed and picking the key from the same folder in a specific file is not what I pointed out. I said where users have access to, of which they should not be able to install anyway, so why do they need access to the share once installed? I'm not getting in to a debate about how applications work, and it really doesn't matter to me, I was simply stating it's a bad idea for users to have access to a share with a license file on it.
